The live launch of Vasil Cardano's (ADA) hardfork has boosted the price of ADA by 7% to $0.47 in the last 24 hours.

Cardano's parent organization Input Output Global (IOG) announced that its company successfully implemented the Vasil upgrade on the ADA mainnet*.

*Mainnet is a fully functional and operational blockchain

Explained, the Vasil hardfork aims to improve the performance and capabilities of the ADA blockchain, a more effective developer experience, improved networking and lower costs.

Meanwhile, the Plutus** script upgrade adds new capabilities to developers on the ADA mainnet on September 27.

**Plutus is an ADA blockchain smart contract platform that allows users to interact with the ADA blockchain

It will provide a new Plutus V2 cost model to be active on the chain, thus fully opening Vasil's functionality for the developer community.

The crypto community and other companies also congratulated the ADA team following the very efficient implementation of Vasil's upgrade, for example Bill Barhydt founder of crypto trading platform Abra called it a big win for ADA developers.

For the record, the ADA team will now focus on building a Layer-2 scalability solution, the Hydra protocol that will be launched in late 2022 or in the first quarter of 2023.

The Hydra protocol is a transaction processing outside the ADA blockchain that uses the mainnet as a security layer.

From different sources, ADA cryptocurrency was included in digital asset exchange Luno on September 21st while Solana on October 6th to further expand its network of digital assets.
