The Walt Disney Company is now seen trying to expand its company into the crypto market globally after posting new job offers related to non-fungible tokens (NFT) and Metaverse.
According to a listing on Disney's career website, the company is in the process of hiring an experienced corporate attorney and lead advisor to handle transactions involving NFTs, Metaverse, blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi).
Specifically, the entertainment conglomerate is looking for someone to provide legal advice and support on NFT products to ensure clients comply with all regulations while in the U.S. or internationally.
Other assignments include delving into NFT projects, blockchain, third-party marketplaces, providing cryptocurrency-related legal advice and guiding Disney's efforts in relation to emerging technologies.
According to CEO Bob Chapek, his company is not only ready to combine physical and digital assets in Metaverse but has even filed a patent for a "virtual-world simulator".
However, for now the Walt Disney company does not plan to use the patent because it could result in the Disney Metaverse being invaded.
Earlier this year, the company focused on augmented reality (AR), NFT and artificial intelligence (AI) in the 2022 Disney Accelerator Program by selecting six companies to benefit from its development platform.
