Looking at the Forbes portal this morning, Indian tycoon Gautam Adani surpassed Elon Musk's wealth to emerge as the champion in the Today's Winners and Losers category.

Looking at the category chart, Adani emerged as the richest billionaire today with an increase in wealth of $4.5 billion surpassing Elon Musk at just $3.9 billion.

Also listed in 3rd place is Zhong Shanshan at $2.5 billion followed by Bernard Arnault at $2.3 billion and Liguo Lou at 5th place with a wealth value of $2 billion.

However, Musk need not worry because the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires chart shows the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX still tops the first place with a wealth value of $277.1 billion.

Adani is seen surpassing the position of Jeff Bezos to be in the 3rd ranking with a wealth value of $156.5 billion compared to the Amazon CEO's $148.1 billion.

Comparing sources from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani emerged as the champion over Bezos to occupy the 2nd place with each sharing a wealth value of $148 billion.

Only the year to date (YTD) value is seen to separate the gap between Adani and Bezos.

A little summary about Musk's new challenger, Adani is the chairman of the Adani Group conglomerate company involved in port development including green energy and data centers.

His success at the top of the rankings can be attributed to the decline in Amazon's stock that fell in 2019 after Bezos divorced his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.

For the first half of 2022 alone, Amazon shares have fallen 32% as of July.
