In the middle of last August, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pfizer Inc, namely Albert Bourla, was confirmed positive for Covid-19.
Now, about a month after his first positive case, he was once again confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 for the 2nd time.
The matter was announced by the company and Bourla himself through his personal Twitter.
He said in a tweet that he feels healthy and does not show any symptoms despite being confirmed positive for the 2nd time in a month.
When he was confirmed positive for the first time, he received treatment with the Paxlovid vaccine.
It should be noted that Bourla, who is 60 years old, has received Paxlovid treatment, which is an antiviral drug used to treat high-risk people such as older patients.
And at that time he is said to have received 4 doses of vaccine injections made by Pfizer in collaboration with BioTech.
In the meantime, Bourla is said to have not yet received the new 'bivalent' booster shot.
As you know, bivalent is a new vaccine targeted to address Omicron's BA.5 and BA.4 sub-variants in the United States (US).
Bourla explained that the reason why he has not yet received the new injection is because he needs to comply with the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
According to the guidelines set by the CDC for bivalent injections, patients must wait 3 months after being infected with Covid-19 to receive the booster shot.
