The tension between the United States (US) and China worsened when Joe Biden 'carelessly' warned Xi Jinping about the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
In an interview, President Biden has issued a threatening warning to President Xi Jinping, saying any Chinese action that violates sanctions on Russia is a 'big mistake'.
The matter may refer to the sanctions imposed by Western powers including the US on Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
He commented that the US and its allies will not continue any trade with China, if Xi is found to be violating any sanctions imposed on Russia.
The US president also described any action that violates sanctions as a big mistake that should be avoided.
It is understood that Biden said this to Xi after the Chinese President met with Vladimir Putin at the Olympic event last February.
This issue may be raised again after there are rumors that China has supplied arms to Russia during the invasion of Ukraine.
But President Biden said so far there is no indication that the Xi government is supplying arms to Russia.
On the other hand, the tension is seen to further cloud the economic relationship between the two countries with the White House taking action to reduce dependence on semiconductor products from Asian countries.
In addition, Biden is also understood to continue the tariffs on Chinese goods made by Donald Trump.
