Believe it or not, Asia has the most billionaires in the world even though the top 10 list of global richest people is dominated by Americans.

The Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list shows the number of richest individuals in Asia exceeds all other continents with 951 billionaires, while North America has 777 and Europe has 536.

Relatively speaking, the picture is slightly different given that Asia has 60% of the world's population, compared to just over 4% in the Americas and less than 10% in Europe.

In addition, the list also shows an analysis of assets owned by more than 2,400 people in all continents, where America leads with $4.7 trillion, followed by $3.5 trillion in Asia and $2.4 trillion in Europe.

By country, the United States ranks first with 719 billionaires followed by China with 440 and India with 61.

Although most of the world's 10 richest people are US entrepreneurs and businessmen, the data confirms that Asians are climbing to the top of global wealth.

In fact, recently the world was surprised by the emergence of Indian businessman Gautam Adani, who became the first Asian to rank second behind Tesla founder Elon Musk in the global billionaires chart.

The chairman of Adani Group, which manages ports and mines and trade resources, is currently hovering around the fourth slot according to Bloomberg and Forbes whose index reflects daily fluctuations in the value of shares held.

Developing countries now produce more billionaires than Europe and America because of advances in communication technology and globalization.
