The highest ATM is located in North Pakistan's Khunjerab Pass, which is between Pakistan and China at an altitude of 4,693 meters (15,396 ft).
It is understood that the ATM was successfully built by the National Bank of Pakistan within four months and was generated with solar power as one of the facilities for residents at the border crossing.
The ATM machine is also a unique focus for tourists to experience making transactions at the highest level of 5,000 meters.
It is also understood that it has been placed in a strategic position on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPEC) which will operate around the clock and will be maintained or monitored by the Sost City branch.
For the record, the cash machine also offers bill payment and provides facilities such as cash withdrawal, digital bill payment and fund transfer.
Therefore, the ATM needs special care so that it does not experience any disruption during the winter.
According to monitoring officer Shah Bibi, he was assigned to supervise and provide data directly to the Sost branch including dealing with problems related to satellite connection, solar energy power generation machines, cash withdrawals and jammed cards.
He also explained that the ATM manages withdrawal transactions amounting to 4 to 5 million dollars within 15 days and requires two to two and a half hours to repair the damage that occurred.
