'Well, does that mean anything? Ukraine has to be careful, there is a debt to be paid later.'

Funds continue to flow to the hapless country of Ukraine, as The World Bank adds $530 million to bring the total emergency aid total to $13 billion.

According to the World Bank Group's official statement, the aid includes a contribution from the United Kingdom (UK) of $500 million and the Danish government at $30 million.

The UK Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly stated that the funds are expected to support the reconstruction efforts of Ukraine after the war while the Danish representative described the aid as a humanitarian contribution to innocent people.

Anna Bjerde, vice president of the World Bank for the Europe and Central Asia region, commented that the aid was donated to repair the damage caused by the Russian invasion last February.

He added that the help from the international community was very encouraging and hoped that more funds could be channeled to help the reconstruction of Ukraine.

So far, the World Bank has channeled $13 billion in emergency funds of which $11 billion has been distributed.

It is hoped that it will enable Ukraine to continue to provide essential government services to the population and help reduce the economic and human losses caused by the war.

In the meantime, the director of the World Bank's Eastern Europe region estimates that Ukraine needs almost $100 billion to repair all the damage and rebuild the country.
