'The Russia-Ukraine war isn't over yet, then there's the US-China-Taiwan crisis, now North Korea also wants to join.'

North Korea seemed to warn the world about its existence when the communist government, Kim Jong Un reportedly launched a missile through Japanese airspace.

According to a report by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea and the Japanese coast guard, North Korea launched a missile that entered the airspace of the Rising Sun islands before falling into the Pacific Ocean.

It is understood to be the first ballistic missile in 5 years and the Japanese government is said not to have used any defensive measures to destroy the destructive weapon so far.

Commenting on the incident, the government's top spokesman Hirokazu Matsuno described North Korea's actions as a threat to the security of Japan, the international community and could trigger world tensions.

Also issuing an official statement was Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, saying the act of launching the missile as something 'barbaric' and the government will continue to make follow-up investigations.

Meanwhile, JCS also reported that North Korea had launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) from Jagang Province while Japan's TV Asahi said it was an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

It was also informed that the missile fell about 3,000 kilometers from Japan and for that reason the Japanese government has suspended the operation of the East Japan Railway in the main region of the country.

In separate news, the launch was said to be the 5th in 10 days as the United States and South Korea deployed their military assets for anti-submarine exercises last week with Japanese forces.

In addition, South Korea also held a show of its advanced weaponry on Saturday in conjunction with Armed Forces Day.
