'No one seems to be able to stop Musk's latest madness.'
During the Tesla AI Day event on September 30, Tesla CEO Elon Musk officially introduced the company's first humanoid robot prototype.
The humanoid, named Optimus, was performed on stage by performing simple actions such as waving and lifting his knees.
Also present on stage was Musk by announcing that the robot is still in the 'work-in-progress' phase and is expected to be ready for mass production in 3 to 5 years.
He also explained that Optimus will be used in some special tasks at the Tesla electric car factory, in addition to saying that the introduction of the robot will change the basis of existing human civilization.
Accompanying Musk's speech was a montage showing the Optimus robot performing other simple tasks such as watering flowers, lifting boxes and heavy metal bars.
In the meantime, the launch of the robot has received mixed reactions among investors and financial analysts.
Most of them expressed skepticism by saying that Tesla had deviated far from the original focus of electric vehicles.
In addition, some of them also brought up Musk's previous statement that artificial intelligence (AI) could be a threat to humans.
Revealing Musk's previous statement, the billionaire said the need to be careful so that the events in the Terrminator robot movie do not happen.
However, the statement is seen to be inconsistent with Musk's latest actions when he said that he wanted to solve the main problem of robots, which is to ensure that they are able to move like humans.
Going back to the original story, Musk revealed that Optimus will probably be sold at a price tag of $20,000 and have a 'stop' button that is easily accessible by the user.
