The Ukrainian army and experts from the UN suspect that the Russians deliberately cut off the supply of clean water in the city of Mykolaiv since April.
It is reported that the residents of the southern coast have been facing problems with the supply of clean water for the past 6 months.
Scrutiny of data and satellite images shows that the water pipeline was deliberately damaged when Ukraine was under Russian control.
The pipeline was damaged at the most fragile part, which is between the external surface and the underground surface.
According to sources in Mykolaiv, the pipeline has been leaking for about eight hours after it burst on April 12. Because of that, it is estimated that approximately 40 million liters of water overflowed before the pipeline had to be disconnected.
This action is against International Humanitarian law which prohibits any party from damaging any facilities provided for public use.
In a matter of weeks, Russia appears to be targeting Ukraine's power and water supplies, which will cut off basic necessities across the country.
The city of Mykolaiv is categorized as a dangerous area because it is an area that has been besieged and is under the control of Ukraine after Russia colonized the country.
Therefore, the presence of the public to take clean water supply is a dangerous action for their safety. However, the people of Mykolaiv had to go through that situation in order to obtain a supply of clean water for daily needs and use.
