Uproar at the end of the week when an explosion was reported on the Crimean bridge, also known as the Kerch Strait Bridge or Kerch Bridge, which connects Russia to the Crimean peninsula.
The explosion that occurred on the longest bridge in Europe last Saturday has raised the anger of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin claimed that the attack was masterminded by the 'Secret Service' of Ukraine which aimed to destroy key infrastructure in Russia.
Based on some recorded videos that went viral on social media, a bomb was installed on a truck that passed through the bridge and claimed three lives.
Ironically, after the attack that Putin had launched on Ukraine for months before that claimed many innocent lives, described the bombing incident as an act of terrorism.
However, Ukraine denies the matter.
As a result of the incident, Putin did not wait long to respond to the attack by also aiming to disable important infrastructure in Ukraine.
A missile attack was launched by Moscow with reports of explosions in Kyiv and affecting communications and energy systems.
Massive power outages occurred in several major cities in Ukraine following the attack.
The United Nations (UN) was also surprised by the swift counterattack launched by Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the attack by Russia had claimed 14 lives and injured 97.
