China is allegedly 'hunting' former British Air Force pilots to train the country's armed forces, the UK Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday.
With a huge compensation offer, it is believed that around 30 former British military pilots have accepted it and are preparing for training in China.
Not only that, but it is understood that so far more people have been approached by Beijing including UK staff who are currently serving to be recruited.
Accordingly, the ministry will take steps to stop the recruitment scheme to curb more defections from the UK.
The ministry believes that Beijing is using third parties to find pilots from the UK and from other western countries to train its military.
Minister of State for the Armed Forces and Veterans, James Heappy said the government is considering changing the law to punish military pilots who contribute their expertise to the Chinese military.
While acknowledging China's important role as the UK's trading partner, Heappy vehemently rejected its military recruitment as it clearly caused concern for them and British military intelligence.
