'This is really a stab in the back of the case, the member is not a strong supporter who helped promote him to minister. You know you're going to get fired.'
Less than 2 months after the appointment of Liz Truss as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), one of her comrades in charge of managing the country's finances has been fired.
It is understood that the former UK Finance Minister, Kwasi Kwarteng, who is under pressure from various parties due to the implementation of his tax relief which is contrary to the financial policy of the Bank of England (BoE), has left the government.
The matter was confirmed by Kwarteng himself through an official letter displayed on a tweet on his personal Twitter page.
Examining the written report, Kwarteng took note of the choice that wanted him to resign and accepted the decision.
Meanwhile, another source said that Kwarteng resigned before Truss announced the end of his economic package in a bid to save markets and political tensions in the UK.
On the other hand, Jeremy Hunt has been appointed as the new Finance Minister under the leadership of Liz Truss.
As you know, Hunt ran as a candidate for Prime Minister several times before being defeated by Boris Johnson and Liz Truss recently.
He has also held portfolios as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Health and Minister of Culture.
