"Now there's a metaverse on TV, it's not boring to watch dramas."
The South Korean technology giant, LG Electronics successfully signed an agreement with the cloud-based technology platform Oorbit and the company Pixelynx which functions as the formation of an ecosystem of music, games and Web3.
The main objective of the collaboration is to allow television viewers to experience the world of the metaverse in their own homes.
According to Pooya Koosha, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Oorbit, the agreement also gives LG TV viewers the opportunity to explore various different virtual worlds such as concerts and artificial intelligence (AI) games.
He added that the metaverse in LG TV not only makes it easier for viewers to interact with other individuals but also allows developers and brands to create their own virtual world experience.
Apart from that, the company aims to attract millions of new LG TV customers through a metaverse that is accessible to all parties without any obstacles.
LG Electronics also updated its business development goals to sell blockchain-based software and crypto brokerage.
On the opposite side, digital entertainment, blockchain and gamification company Animoca Brands managed to acquire a majority stake in Los Angeles-based Pixelynx.
