After two years of being blocked, the former President of the United States, Donald Trump is finally allowed to return to social media Facebook and Instagram.
Meta Platforms Inc confirmed the matter on Wednesday, saying it would return both accounts to Trump in the coming weeks.
The development comes after Elon Musk, Twitter's new owner, lifted a permanent ban on Trump in November last year on the social media platform following a user poll.
Donald Trump was suspended from those platforms following the deadly Capitol Hill riots on January 6, 2021.
The recovery of his account could benefit Trump who announced in November to participate in the presidential election in 2024.
This is because social media is the main platform for political outreach and fundraising.
