After a year has passed, the United States has finally lifted the restrictions imposed on imported goods from Malaysian rubber casing maker YTY Industry Holdings Sdn Bhd.

For the record, products made by YTY were banned by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in January 2022 due to allegations that the company practices forced labor.

In its latest statement on Thursday, CBP said the company has made various efforts to overcome the issue.

It includes measures to reimburse foreign workers for the recruitment fees they paid as well as commission an independent social audit.

Following the move, the Washington-based agency assessed that YTY Group has been freed from allegations of forced labor practices.

YTY is not the only glove maker to be blocked by America following the forced labor issue, where Supermax Corp Bhd and Smart Glove were also affected by the allegations.
