Amazon Will Invest RM25.5 Billion In Malaysia

 After Tesla, Amazon showed interest in investing in Malaysia through Amazon Web Services (AWS).


To strengthen its cloud service infrastructure in this country, AWS will invest as much as $6 billion (RM25.5 billion) until 2037.


The AWS cloud platform offers more than 200 services, including storage, robotics and artificial intelligence.


Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia has the opportunity to become the data center and digital hub of Southeast Asia as a result of the largest international technology investment.



Not only that, with access to AWS infrastructure that has advanced technology to Malaysia, it will pave the way for local businesses to grow globally.


Meanwhile, the Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Tengku Zafrul also welcomed the move, saying it reflected the country's reputation as a preferred investment destination in the global technology scenario.


This is good news for Malaysia and the overall economy in attracting foreign investment.


Earlier on Wednesday, Tesla also announced it would open a headquarters and build a network of charging stations for its vehicles in the country.
