Italy's leading football club AS Roma now accepts payment for their merchandise in the DigitalBits (XDB) cryptocurrency which is also described as the "leading blockchain for brands".
Payments via XDB can reportedly be made at the football club's five main retail outlets, namely Via del Corso, Piazza Colonna, Ottaviano, Porta di Roma and the Fan zone at the Stadio Olimpico.
Please be informed that customers who hold XDB can use the digital asset to purchase various AS Roma merchandise.
However, payment must be made through a mobile wallet called AstraX by scanning a QR code, where the payment will be processed in a few seconds and the customer will then be given cash back through XDB.
According to Daniele Mensi, Managing Director at the XDB Foundation said that the new move will not only increase the use of crypto and Web3 but also provide a variety of experiences to millions of AS Roma fans.
