Hedera Network Hacked! HBAR crypto will be destroyed?

"Hopefully the price will not fall very badly."

Following the news of the Hedera network (HBAR) having to stop its operations after showing suspicious activity, the crypto community speculated it was a malicious exploit or planned attack and not a technical problem in the system.

Hasport Network, a cross-chain solution built on top of HBAR, terminated the Hashport bridge used to transfer digital assets across multiple networks shortly after becoming aware of the irregularities.

Users of the HBAR-based application who also reported the problem have been warned to avoid using the network entirely for the safety of their funds while its team monitors and resolves the issue.

However, HBAR's two best services, Hedera Token Service (HTS) and Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), have been affected at the moment as a result of the majority of tokens built on HBAR being vulnerable to exploitation.

Next, major DEXs such as Pangolin intend to withdraw all HTS-based tokens from the platform when hackers are found targeting the process of changing program code (decompiling) in the network's smart contracts.

While Stader lab, the largest HBAR staking platform has said that users cannot withdraw their HBAR staking for a while until the issue is resolved.

Although HBAR is not vulnerable to exploitation, the token built using HTS is the reason why the digital asset may experience a fall as most investors will question the security of its network.

As of this writing, HBAR price has slipped by 7.53% at $0.05666 in the last 24 hours with a market cap of $1 billion.
