The US stock market started the week on a positive note, seeing gains in the US30 index.

This follows weakness in the US dollar trade and a decline in the 10-year US treasury yield.

Even so, when bond yields rose again in the middle of the New York session, the main US stock index began to limit gains.

This was reflected in all three major indexes ending with moderate gains, where the Dow Jones Industrial gained 0.12% at 33,431.45 when it closed in the New York session.

While the S&P 500 rose 2.78 points to 4,048.43, while the Nasdaq rose 0.10% at 12,302.48.

Among the top gainers in the Dow Jones on Monday was Merk, which rose 4% after the announcement that the FDA had approved intramuscular administration of its MMRV vaccine.

Boeing, on the other hand, became the biggest loser after falling about 2% following profit-taking by investors.

On the Nasdaq, Apple jumped 2% after Goldman Sachs set a 'buy' target at $199 per share.

The testimony of the Chairman of the Federal Reserve (Fed) before Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday is now the focus of investors who await new indications on the central bank's monetary policy.
