After three weeks of being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Pharmaniaga Bhd, Datuk Zulkarnain Md Eusope resigned on Tuesday (March 14).
According to a filing with the local bourse, he relinquished the position to pursue other interests.
For the record, Datuk Zulkarnain was appointed as chief executive officer on 22 February last, after serving as Pharmaniaga's managing director since 1 September 2020.
Through the appointment, he was entrusted to resolve the company's financial crisis following its dismal performance last year.
Pharmaniaga recorded its worst ever loss of RM664.39 million in the fourth quarter ended December 2022, after being hit by weak demand for the Covid-19 vaccine that left many of its supplies unsold.
As a result, the company is listed as under the PN17 category, or facing financial difficulties.
Following Datuk Zulkarnain's resignation, the firm will continue business operations as usual.
