There was an uproar on Wednesday over two drones reportedly launching an attack on the Kremlin in an alleged attempt to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.
However, the attack was repulsed by the Russian Air Defense Forces and President Putin was not at the scene when it happened.
However, it has sparked new tensions in the Russian-Ukrainian war because Moscow believes the attack was sent by Kyiv with the support of the United States.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was aware that the decision on such actions was not made by Ukraine but by Washington, and Kyiv was the executor.
Peskov, however, did not provide any evidence or additional details to his claims, saying that information would be released later.
Responding to the allegations, US National Security spokesman John Kirby vehemently denied Russia's absurd accusation that it ordered Ukraine to carry out such an attack.
He even assured that the US had no role in the incident, saying the country does not support or encourage individual attacks on leaders.
