"Perhaps because the former CEO of FTX thinks he is innocent in that regard?"

In a filing in Manhattan court, the founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has asked a judge to dismiss 10 of the 13 criminal charges against him.

This is because the SBF lawyer said that the prosecutors not only acted hastily in judging the founder of the crypto exchange but also accused him of causing the crypto market to experience a significant fall in 2022.

The SBF lawyer commented again, the government should not change civil and regulatory issues to federal crimes, rather the authorities need to wait for the traditional regulatory process and others first to examine the matter in more detail.

Despite this, SBF insisted that some of his illegal transactions were recorded outside the United States (US) while adding that the donations he made to political parties were completely legal.

Earlier, US prosecutors charged SBF with running a scheme through FTX and crypto-trading company Alameda Research, which he co-founded, to defraud investors around the world.

In addition, the FTX founder was also charged with eight criminal charges, including wire fraud, money laundering, violating campaign finance laws and so on.

Returning to the statement of SBF's lawyer, he stated that John Ray who took over as CEO has become a public spokesperson for the government after he continuously made comments that could disparage SBF.

Currently, the price of FTX (FTT) is hovering at $1.23 in the last 24 hours after successfully reaching $2.90 on April 12, 2023 but starting to see a slow decline.
