Warning! China's 'Spy' Balloons Detected Again

Remember the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down in the United States a few months ago?

Most recently, the BBC reported new evidence about the balloon which is suspected to have flown in the airspace of Japan and Taiwan.

Working with Synthetaic, an artificial intelligence company that sifts through vast amounts of data captured by satellites, the BBC has uncovered some images of balloons crossing East Asia.

However, this finding is not the latest, but in early September 2021, which showed a balloon passing over northern Japan.

US-China relations were strained in February this year, when a Chinese spy balloon was shot down by an American fighter jet in the Atlantic Ocean off the East coast of the United States.

Even so, Beijing has repeatedly claimed that balloons seen in US airspace are civilian aircraft used for scientific research such as meteorology.

To investigate whether Beijing had launched another balloon, the BBC's Panorama team looked for reports of UFOs spotted in the sky.

As a result, they found two photos taken by Taiwan's weather service, showing balloons over the capital city of Taipei in late September 2021.

In response to the discovery, Japan confirmed the balloon had flown over its territory and said it was prepared to shoot it down in the future.
