The Ministry is conducting continuous monitoring and looking more closely to control the price of raw chicken which has risen after it was announced that the chicken subsidy will end on 1 November 2023.

The purpose is to identify fundamental problems such as supply and operating expenses.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Mohamad Sabu, said the wholesale cut of the chicken subsidy was due to leakage because it was more benefited by high-income groups and foreigners.

He also did not rule out the possibility that the market price of raw chicken is expected to rise in the future and urged the public to report to the ministry using the correct channels.
