Through Maybank's statement on the official website, the MAE mobile banking app now supports DuitNow QR transactions in China.

Indirectly, it complements the three existing Southeast Asian countries namely Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and further increases the ease of financial transactions among users at the regional level.

Maybank also said that this initiative will benefit more than eight million users of the MAE application who visit China and more than 700,000 merchants in Malaysia through transactions made by visitors from the country.

The daily transaction limit is maintained up to RM1,000 equivalent to 1,554.66 Chinese Yuan. The same goes for merchants in Malaysia who can receive their payments through the Alipay platform.

As usual, payment transactions exceeding RM250 require verification of the original user.
