Recently, the Malaysian Government has announced toll exemptions on Thursdays and Fridays in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

Minister of Public Works, Alexander Nanta Linggi said that the initiative will only be given to private vehicles.

He also said that the facility is in line with the aspirations of the unity government to preserve the welfare of the people and help reduce their cost of living.

This initiative will cost the government RM42.99 million.

The exemption will be implemented on all highways starting at 12.01am tomorrow and ending at 11.59pm on Friday.

However, they did not implement the facility at several national border tolls, namely Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang toll plaza.

Nanta advises road users to plan their journeys in advance and adhere to the highway authority's travel time advice.

He further said, he requested that all highway users get enough rest and make sure your TNG card has enough balance. Users can check highway traffic updates through the Malaysian Highway Authority's social media platform.
