"RWA is being talked about more and more, are you excited when you hear about RWA?"
Securitize, a leading financial services provider and Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization platform has secured $47 million in a new funding round led by its partner BlackRock.
Following his pioneering efforts in integrating blockchain and the digitalization of capital markets, BlackRock's Global Head of Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships Joseph Chalom has joined Securitize's Board of Directors as a member.
In addition to viewing its investment in Securitize as part of its move to evolve its digital asset strategy, Blackrock also said tokenization has the potential to drive significant transformation in capital market infrastructure.
Securitize intends to use the funds generated to drive innovation and expansion of existing products while re-establishing itself as a leader in the digital asset securitization landscape.
Like to be informed that Blackrock last month created a token asset fund called BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity (BUIDL) through its agreement with Securitize.
Reported by BlackRock, the proposed token fund will require outside investors to invest at least $100,000 and the estimated sales commission for the fund is $525,000 according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The well-publicized launch of BUIDL has seen relatively positive sentiment following a $100 million fundraising in the USDC stablecoin pegged in the United States (US) dollar using the Ethereum (ETH) network.
