"The idea is really out of the box, we wouldn't even think of making a BTC themed meal box."

Emart24, a South Korean convenience store chain has entered into an agreement with local cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb to introduce a new Bitcoin (BTC) "meal box" that will be available for in-store purchase.

Emart24 and Bithumb said on May 9, 2024 that the preparation of about 30,000 meal boxes will be done by the end of this month, where each box will be sold at a price of 5,900 Korean won equivalent to $4.30.

According to reports from local media, a representative from Bithumb revealed that customers can receive BTC worth 10,000 won if they download the crypto exchange application and then enter the coupon number found in each meal box.

Not only that, Bithumb also offers BTC worth 20,000 won to customers who create a BTC account through NH Nonghyup bank while customers who already have an account must connect it to Bithumb to receive additional BTC.

It is well known that the development of the BTC meal box is a follow-up to the continuous hype regarding crypto right after the most awaited halving event takes place on April 20, 2024.

Please note that Bithumb which is one of South Korea's leading crypto exchanges is a member of the Digital Asset Exchange Association (DAXA) along with Upbit, Coinone, Korbit including Gopax.

There is no denying that Bithumb's planned initial public offering (IPO) has been delayed, but this time its team aims to become the first crypto exchange to be listed on the South Korean stock market.
