Uproar! Iranian President Killed in Helicopter Crash

The latest report informs that the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash that happened in the northwest of Iran last night.


According to reports, President Raisi along with other high-ranking government officials were on their way home from the inauguration of a dam on the Iran-Azerbaijan border.


Also killed in the crash were Iran's Foreign Minister, Amir Abdollahian, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdel-Lahyan, Azerbaijan Province Governor Malek Rahmati and Tabriz Province Imam, Muhammad Ali al-Hashem.


Since last night until this morning, the rescue operation has been carried out with the operation facing the challenge of bad weather with thick fog in addition to the mountainous crash site.



Iran has also requested help from Turkey for night-time search operations and Russia has also reportedly sent aircraft, helicopters and a number of skilled mountain rescuers to assist in the operation.


After the location of the helicopter crash was successfully detected using a drone survey, the situation was seen as critical with the effects of the helicopter on fire.


Iranian officials told Reuters that the chances of the Iranian president and other officials surviving the crash were slim.
