Hey! Will Physical Driving License Be Charged Next Year?

Want to take driving lessons, pay. Want to take a driving test, pay. Want to renew your driver's license, pay. Now, if you want a physical driver's license you have to pay too?

The Ministry of Transport is now considering charging for those who still want to obtain a physical copy of their driver's license from next year.

This move is part of the government's efforts to accelerate the digital era in Malaysia.

The Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke, confirmed the statement and announced that those who choose to obtain a physical license will have to pay the cost of printing the license, although the amount of the charge has not been announced.

This step was taken after the success of the MyJPJ application which allows Malaysians to manage their digital driving license and road tax.

The application has processed over one million transactions and generated nearly RM121 million in revenue since the application was launched.

In addition, this move is said to reduce printing costs and increase efficiency.

However, after paying high prices for licenses and license renewals, suddenly there are charges for physical licenses.

This will certainly invite various reactions in the community.

Is this step really to make it easier for the people or just another tactic to increase the national income by burdening the people?
