The Free Laptop Initiative, launched by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, received an overwhelming response with 17,832 applications, proving how high the need is for better access to education.
The handover of the vouchers took place symbolically during the Sarawak Career and Training Fair held at the Sibu Indoor Stadium.
This initiative is not just a handover of gadgets but a long-term investment in developing a highly skilled workforce to realise Sarawak’s goal of becoming a high-income state.
Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn as Sarawak's Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development stressed that this effort drives economic growth, promotes social inclusion, and sustainability.
Sarawakian students now have the key to unlocking the doors of the digital era more easily.
