Donald Trump has revealed his plans to reshape US foreign policy during his second term.
He intends to rethink America's role in NATO, arguing that European allies should repay the US for its aid to Ukraine.
He has also pledged to quickly end the war in Ukraine, suggesting that Kyiv may have to compromise on its territorial claims.
However, Trump faces legal obstacles that prevent him from starting negotiations before taking office.
On trade, Trump plans to implement significant tariffs on imports, proposing a universal rate of 10% and higher for countries like China, as well as threatening 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
He wants tighter limits on Chinese investment in US infrastructure and believes Taiwan should contribute financially to its defense.
Trump intends to classify drug cartels in Mexico as terrorist organizations and order the use of US "Special Forces" to deal with them.
He has also proposed redeploying troops from abroad to protect the US-Mexico border.
In the Middle East, Trump has vowed tougher action against Iran and insisted Hamas must be stopped.
