US stocks rose slightly on Wednesday as all eyes turned to the announcement of earnings reports from technology giant Nvidia.
Shares of Nvidia rose nearly 5% on Tuesday, giving the Nasdaq Composite a more than 1% boost and lifting the S&P 500 by 0.4%.
In contrast, the Dow Jones slipped slightly, losing 0.28% marking its fifth fall in six trading days.
Investors will want to see how the major AI microchip maker performs, especially with increased demand for its advanced Blackwell AI chips.
Big tech companies like OpenAI, Microsoft and Meta are already using these chips to power large AI data centers.
Meanwhile, markets appear to be shrugging off global tensions. Russia's updated nuclear policy, which now allows for faster retaliation if a US-backed attack occurs, does not appear to have fazed investors.
Instead, the focus remains on upcoming statements from Federal Reserve (Fed) officials, as investors await clues about interest rate policy.
