Terengganu Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar on Monday presented the 2025 state budget amounting to RM1.887 billion, a slight increase from this year's allocation of RM1.860 billion.

Themed "For the Future of Terengganu," the budget focuses on sustainable fiscal growth, a stronger food value chain and empowering competitive entrepreneurship.

The main funds are aimed at social development and infrastructure improvement, with RM1.127 billion earmarked for grants and fixed charges, and RM450 million for development expenditure.

In addition to the financial plan, Ahmad Samsuri delivered a long-awaited bonus for Terengganu civil servants.

Unlike other states such as Selangor, which announced a bonus of two months' salary, and Sabah, with one month, Terengganu is still awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance.

The bonus depends on this approval and the Ministry's decision on the amount allocated.

This explains why no bonus announcement was made during the presentation of the state budget.

To increase state revenue, initiatives include revising mineral royalties, improving land tax collection and enforcing water resource management laws.

These efforts, in addition to strategic partnerships, reflect confidence about Terengganu's bright future, ensuring growth in both economic and social well-being.
