Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul has officially closed the debate on the cost of the Main Data Base (PADU) project.

He explained that both Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli were accurate in their statements but from different perspectives.

Dr Wee focused on the total cost projected for 2023 to 2025, which amounted to RM85.27 million.

In contrast, Rafizi discussed the expenses incurred up to September 2024, which amounted to RM31 million.

Both perspectives are valid, but they represent different time frames.

Johari stressed that the issue has been thoroughly studied, and no further discussion will be entertained.

He stressed that all allegations, whether from Ayer Hitam (Wee) or Pandan (Rafizi), are based on data and facts, and no evidence of wrongdoing was found. “The case is closed,” he stressed.

The breakdown of expenses shared by Rafizi included RM800,000 for servers and security, RM4.6 million for data encryption, RM6.4 million for cloud services, and RM19.3 million for the nationwide registration process.
