The Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) continues to make strides with the implementation of more than $39 billion (RM165 billion) of infrastructure projects and increasingly vibrant regional connectivity.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who chaired the 16th IMT-GT Summit on Tuesday, said that these efforts not only focus on physical development, but also strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), tourism, halal and agro-industry sectors.

He praised Thailand's actions that have shown high commitment by quickly approving several border projects, including the Rantau Panjang–Sungai Golok bridge, giving an important signal that progress in regional cooperation can no longer be delayed.

This effort to strengthen connectivity was also strengthened through the signing of a Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Cooperation Framework (FOC CIQ) as an important step towards smooth cross-border travel and trade flows.

With large-scale investment and increasingly strong political commitment, IMT-GT is no longer just a vision but is now an undeniable reality of regional development.
