Microsoft announced the launch of BINA AI Malaysia in an effort to advance the country's artificial intelligence (AI) transformation.
Microsoft Malaysia Managing Director, Laurence Si said this effort is able to strengthen Malaysia's renewed commitment to AI through the collaboration of all parties to drive future innovation and development.
Laurence Si said the main initiative of BINA AI Malaysia is Microsoft's National AI Innovation Center which aims to drive innovation, collaboration and solving local challenges with AI.
Laurance Si discussed Microsoft's successful training of 400,000 people in AI skills through the "AI for Malaysia Future" (AIForMYFuture) initiative which was launched in December 2024.
He stressed that they are targeting to train 800,000 users with the goal of channeling digital skills by the end of 2025 so that the country has the potential to become a regional digital leader.
