Retailers in India are boycotting all Turkish products such as coffee, clothing, chocolate and jam, prompted by the Turkish government's full support for Pakistan.

In addition, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan expressed solidarity with the Islamic country after Indian troops attacked the Kashmir region for four days before the ceasefire was implemented.

The All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) said they were boycotting the country's goods, affecting the production of wafers, jam, chocolate, biscuits and skin care products.

Indian fashion website Myntra also removed Turkish clothing brands such as Trendyol, LC Waikiki and Mavi in order to protect the country's interests.

Furthermore, the Indian administration did not order companies to boycott the country because India's imports to Turkey are worth $2.7 billion, involving mineral fuels and precious metals.

The implementation of the boycott is considered important after AICPDF said that lifting the restrictions could affect nearly $234 million in food products and $81 million in clothing imports last year.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said he would ban the import of apples from Turkey, estimated to be worth $60 million.

Indians also cancelled their holiday plans to Turkey and suspended security clearance operations at an airline operating in Celebi, Turkey.
