Local petroleum company, Petronas is holding talks between the national oil organization based in Pertamina, Indonesia and French energy group, TotalEnergies.
The main purpose of the collaboration is to develop a Bobara oil block in Indonesia.
Petronas Vice President of International Assets, Mohd Redhani Abdul Rahman stated that discussions began last year, but have not yet been sealed with any official agreement.
Mohd Redhani delivered the speech on the sidelines of the Indonesian Petroleum Association conference.
Furthermore, Petronas successfully signed a production sharing contract with the Indonesian government last year to develop the Bobara block project.
The government estimates that the block has 6.8 billion barrels of oil and will be Petronas' first major project in Indonesia.
