The price of RON97 petrol and diesel will be reduced by eight sen for a week from May 8 to 14 in Peninsular Malaysia.

The Ministry of Finance announced that the fuel price reduction measure was taken following changes in world oil market prices.

The retail price of RON97 will drop to RM3.10 per litre, while the price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will drop to RM2.80 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of RON95 petrol will remain at RM2.05 per litre and the price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will remain at RM2.15 per litre.

The ministry also announced that the retail price of petroleum products is determined weekly using the Automatic Pricing Formula (APM) method.

Next, the government will continue to monitor market developments and coordinate the retail price of diesel and RON97 by taking into account the movement of oil market prices, and even support price stability.

The government is determined to take appropriate measures to ensure that the well-being and welfare of the people continue to be maintained.
