Klang City is about to get a facelift!
A total of RM64.8 million has been allocated to solve flooding problems, beautify housing estates and upgrade community halls – all for the people’s comfort.
Selangor Local Government and Tourism Committee Chairman, Datuk Ng Suee Lim said that the bulk of the funds will be used for flood mitigation projects, especially in critical areas such as Sungai Klang, Kampung Jawa, Sentosa and Kapar.
During an official visit to the headquarters of the Royal Klang Town Council (MBDK), Ng stressed that the efforts being carried out do not just involve cleaning drains, but rather reflect a comprehensive commitment to rebuilding Klang as a true royal city.
The upgrades also involve cleaning housing estates, intensive maintenance and more efficient and faster council services.
This action was taken following a review of tax assessments to increase revenue collection that will be returned to the people through infrastructure.
He explained that Klang was chosen first because of its status as a royal city and the great challenges the city has faced, while stressing that MBDK needs to be on par with other leading city councils in Selangor.
Now the people of Klang are waiting with anticipation — to what extent will this RM64.8 million change really be felt in their daily lives?
