Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) today announced the appointment of Azizan Abd Aziz as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1 August 2025.

He succeeds Rosidah Baharom, who stepped down after 27 years of service.

As CFO, he will oversee Bursa Malaysia’s finance functions, including financial and management reporting, corporate planning and budgeting.

Azizan Abd Aziz brings over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, with strong expertise in corporate finance and advisory.

According to a statement from Bursa Malaysia, throughout his career he has held senior positions at two ‘Big Four’ global accounting firms, namely Deloitte Malaysia and KPMG United Kingdom.

Bursa Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift said Azizan’s appointment is expected to directly contribute to the strengthening of the company’s operations and strategic initiatives.

In a separate filing with regulators, Bank Islam said Azizan's last working day as Chief Financial Officer will be July 31, 2025. The bank is currently reviewing several shortlisted successor candidates for board approval.

For the record, Azizan joined Bank Islam as CFO in May 2019 and was appointed as group CFO in October 2021 following the company's listing.
