Co-opbank Pertama (CBP) has collaborated with the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) to extend social protection to housewives through the Home Social Security Scheme (SKSSR).
CBP Chief Executive Officer, Khairil Anuar Mohammad Anuar said the partnership was signed since last February and saw CBP appointed as the official SKSSR promotional partner at all branches.
Khairil Anuar said this collaboration reflects CBP's commitment to developing the socio-economic well-being of female customers through relevant social protection.
He also discussed that housewives who are Malaysian citizens or permanent residents under 55 years of age are eligible to contribute with a payment of RM120 per year which can be paid by themselves, their husbands, family or third parties.
SKSSR was established under the Housewives Social Security Act 2022 to protect housewives who suffer injuries, illnesses or disabilities while managing their households.
As an official partner, CBP will help channel information and the SKSSR registration process through 35 branches nationwide.
Furthermore, CBP is also planning an ongoing social media campaign to raise awareness about the importance of social protection for housewives.
The following efforts demonstrate CBP's commitment as a Shariah-compliant cooperative financial institution that provides a positive social impact to the community.
