Iran is committed to maintaining good relations with Qatar and its people, despite yesterday's attack on the AI Udeid Air Base in the country.
In an official statement, the Secretariat of Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced that the attack was a targeted military action and did not affect the safety of civilians.
According to the statement, the base targeted by Iranian forces is located far from residential areas and public facilities in Qatar, thus not posing any threat or adverse effects to the country.
The announcement is seen as Tehran's effort to maintain strong diplomatic relations with Doha, which has been the main mediator in various regional crises.
Iran explained that its action was only targeted at the presence of foreign troops and did not intend to show any hostility towards the government or people of Qatar.
Qatari authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the attack, but it is understood that precautionary measures have been taken by increasing the level of security in the area.
