“Other People Want to Make Peace, They Become Flintstones” – China Heats Up After Trump Intervenes in Iran-Israel Conflict

Tensions between the United States (US) and China have once again escalated following President Donald Trump’s actions of openly intervening in the Iran-Israel conflict, drawing strong condemnation from Beijing.

Through the Truth Social platform, Trump urged the people of Tehran to “leave immediately,” a statement that a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman described as an act of “pouring fuel on the fire.”

China slammed the statement as irresponsible and would only worsen the situation and undermine any diplomatic resolution efforts.

Relations between the two superpowers continued to strain when Taiwan blacklisted two major Chinese technology companies, Huawei and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), alleging that they were orchestrated by the US.

This decision was the first taken by Taipei, prohibiting any form of technological cooperation without special approval and was seen as in line with the US approach in restricting China’s technological progress.

Sources close to the Trump administration have revealed that Washington has long been pushing Taipei to tighten controls on technology transfers to China, as part of a strategy to curb Beijing's economic and technological influence.

These issues have added to the burden on trade talks between the US and China, which are now at a critical stage after years of tariff wars and technology restrictions.

Although there has been no official statement on the status of the talks, Trump's recent actions have begun to cast doubt on Washington's commitment to reaching a long-term solution.

If these tensions continue unchecked, it is possible that the long-awaited talks could collapse before reaching an agreement.
