The RM140 million road construction project connecting Paloh in Kluang and Bekok in Segamat is expected to be fully completed by September 2027, thus shortening the travel distance from 70 kilometers to just 13 kilometers.
Paloh State Assemblyman (ADUN), Lee Ting Han, said the new route would reduce residents' travel time from about an hour to just 15 minutes, in addition to providing benefits to local economic development.
In a statement, he explained that this project could not only save time and fuel costs, but also have the potential to boost eco-tourism activities and open up opportunities for economic growth in the areas involved.
He added that the two-lane road initially faced delays due to land acquisition issues, but the matter has been resolved and construction work is now expected to proceed smoothly according to the set schedule.
To ensure transparency and information to the public, the Kluang Public Works Department (JKR) is given the responsibility of issuing monthly project progress reports via the agency's official Facebook page.
