Russia is ready to provide assistance to Iran in various aspects that are in line with Tehran's needs, following the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia has offered its role as a mediator, but everything depends on Iran's needs.

Peskov said that Russia has voiced its position as an important signal as a form of support for the Iranian government.

Commenting on the meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Moscow, Peskov said that the discussion was an opportunity to exchange views and allow Tehran to convey its proposals and vision to Moscow on the current situation.

Furthermore, he also discussed the increasing number of parties involved in the current tension, which is condemned and deeply regretted by Russia.

He also stressed that the US attack on Iran will not affect the dialogue between Moscow and Washington because it is considered a "separate process."

Israel and Iran have been engaged in air battles since June 13, following Tel Aviv's surprise attack on several locations in Iran that triggered Tehran's retaliation.
