US President Donald Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with Indonesia, setting a 19% tariff on the Southeast Asian country's exports.

He said the United States would not pay any tariffs and Indonesia would be granted wider trade access than before.

The deal is the largest to date with a cut to 19%.

However, Jakarta has yet to give an official statement from President Donald Trump.

Based on a tweet on Truth Social, Trump said Indonesia agreed to buy $15 billion in US Energy, $4.5 billion in American Agricultural Products and 50 Boeing Jets under the deal that has been in place.

According to the CEO of Indonesia's Garuda, they are in talks to buy between 50 and 75 Boeing jets.

If it happens, the new tariff rate on Indonesian imports would show Trump pulling back on the 32% duty he threatened last week.

Trump said in a brief social media post Tuesday morning that the deal followed direct talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Indonesia would eliminate its tariffs on the United States.

Indonesia is one of the United States' top 25 trading partners, with the two countries trading more than $38 billion in goods and a trade deficit of $17.9 billion in 2024.
